I have close friends (family, really) who I visit at least once a year in Oklahoma. The state has a beauty of its own. I especially enjoy visiting the Witchita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, which is where I captured these Indian Blankets (Gaillardia pulchella).

Peering Into The Future

There is a story behind every face. As our team met with the leaders of Villa Hortencia, I couldn't help viewing the children as future leaders of the village. Most kids smiled and acted goofy in front of the camera. This young man seemed to penetrate the lens with eyes that could one day lead the village.
